Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo

Haris Bašić was born in 1974 in Sarajevo. He graduated in business economics from the Anglo-American University in Prague. He obtained his master's degree in state management and humanitarian affairs at the joint master's program of the University of Sarajevo, "La Sapienza" Rome, Belgrade.

From 2015 to 2018, he was the Ambassador of BiH to the Kingdom of Denmark and the non-resident Ambassador of BiH to Lithuania and Latvia. From 2010 to 2015, he was an advisor and head of the Cabinet of a member of the Presidency of BiH from the ranks of the Bosniak people.

At the Center for International Development at New York University, the USAID BiH Parliamentary Support Project worked as an expert in research and education. He has been a lecturer in the field of business economics at numerous international universities.

Bašić performed the function of the Minister of Economy in the Government of KS in the mandate 2018-2020. He is married and the father of three children.
