Thomas Straubhaar is Professor of Economics at the University of Hamburg, and chairs the department of international economic relations. Since 1994 he has been an active member of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and since 2011 he is serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. Straubhaar was President of the Hamburg Archive of International Economics (HWWA) and thereafter Head of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) from 1999 to 2014.
